FIA ACT 1973
Formation, Dates, Laws, Rules and regulations, Current DG, Scope of FIA and its wings along with their Acts
Note: If you are preparing only for the test of FIA inspector, you can skip FIA ACT 1973, and vocabulary in English section. However, if you have applied for both posts, AD and Inspector FIA, and even AD FIA then focus on the entire syllabus. And don’t ignore the areas I have mentioned in syllabus outline, I made the content on the basis of past experience. Never rely on the FPSC given syllabus only.
TIPS FOR PREPARATION AND EXAMS:
First of All, make a proper study plan by dividing the complete syllabus on the number of days remaining the test. Allocate time and days to the syllabus headings according to importance and marks. A systematic approach towards your goal will assist you keeping persistent and punctual.
Secondly, don’t read past papers before covering all the contents. It will waste your precious time. Consult past papers after full preparation to test your knowledge and readiness. However, you can have a bird eye view of past papers to understand the paper pattern just.
Thirdly, prepare short and less time taking as well as important areas first. English and math should be at first priority because you can’t manage them in a hurry. You need proper study and exercise to be master at them. The rest of the subjects are dependent on your cramming skills.
Next, follow the step-by-step approach and don’t mix up the headings while working on them. Get one heading done, and then move on the next one. It will enhance your confidence and thirst of learning with every passing single day. Set short term missions towards your ultimate vision. Little achievements make you confident and brave.
Apart from this, you can start more than one subject parallel. But do not create hustle in any subject. Get every subject ready in a proper way. Never read things randomly, always follow the road map. A planned study is far more effective and efficient than random selection of topics.
NOTE: Always Follow Study Plan instead of studying random topics.
Further, cover the full contents of syllabus and never skip anyone. All portions contain almost equal marks. On the other, never go beyond the limits in a specific subject. Your all-round performance is required, not a subject specialist. Know something about everything.
In Addition, if you are good at cramming the information, it’s fine. Otherwise, relate some stories, conditions and events in your heart and mind to remember a bulk of information. Little tricks for remembering the information is very effective and efficient, as we learn periodic table at school level. (Hali ny ki rab sy faryad)
Last but not least: try to reach examination hall in time and be seated 15 minutes before the exam. Get your body language relax and confident. Tick 100% sure answer at first, and skip the doubtful questions. Go from MCQ no 1 to 100 and keep solving 100% sure questions, then solve the remaining math portion and other doubtful ones. Solve every question whether you don’t know the answer.
How to Cover the Different Subjects:
ENGLISH – 20 Marks
It is the most essential and crucial part of the exams, AD and Inspector FIA, and carrying highest marks portion.
Vocabulary: Vocabulary MCQs are totally dependent on your previous knowledge and even your luck. If you have not developed your vocabulary till now, you can do nothing in this area so skip that portion because it is inevitable. The rest of the exam is in your hands, focus on it.
Grammar: this portion can be prepared with a little effort. Pick the syllabus contents mentioned above and get prepared one by one. For example, read parts of speech one by one and solve the exercises of every part either physically on book or online exercises. If you give 2-3 three full days to your English grammar and sentence structure, you can easily tackle the English portion in the exams.
Sentence Structure: Read types of sentences and see examples to understand the difference between various types of sentences. At the end, solve online exercises and keep repeating until you are master of sentence structure. Additionally, watch video lectures and read about the types of phrases in a sentence.
Although there are numerous types of sentence phrases, a short video of half an hour can build your concept. There is nothing tricky if you have learnt parts of speech. Every given content can be covered online if you don’t have a English book.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE - 80 Marks
General knowledge: you can consult any book or notes compiled on general knowledge from any good author like Carvan or Dogar publishers. GK is same everywhere. If you have any good notes of GK, you don’t need to spend money on books. Even you people can prepare it online.
Geography: install a geography game app (Sterra Geography) in your cell phones and keep playing it daily when you go to your bed or have bored from your studies. You can cover most of the portion of geography by playing this interesting game. If anything is still missing, search on Google and learn about it and take notes.
Current Affairs: read current affairs from pakmcqs and exmveda websites. Cover second last year current affairs at first, because it is observed that last year events are ignored by the commission while making the exam. So, give least importance to the current affairs of 2023, and focus on 2022 and late 2021’s events.
General Science and Ability: read the JWT compiled book for CSS on general science and ability. Both science and math portions can be fully prepared from this book.
ISLAMIC AND PAK STUDIES
Pakistan Affairs: get one liner short notes of Pakistan affairs. A lot of short bullet point notes are floating on social media. You have to learn by heart the event from 712 to date. So, it is better to take one liner notes either compiled or hand made. YouTube videos can also be very helpful in this regard. Take screen shots of video to take notes.
Islamic Studies: as discussed above, same advice is for the Islamic Studies. Take short one line notes of Islamic Studies to cover the syllabus. Additionally, you will have to work personally on the books of hadith to get their MCQs ready, because I have never seen good notes on this topic.
FIA Act 1973:
FIA Act 1973: Read act thoroughly and take notes by yourself. There is nothing tricky if you read it effectively. Furthermore, handmade notes are also available on internet and social media of FIA Act 1973. This act in not included in both exams of AD and Inspector FIA, but mandatory for AD exam only.
Finally, all the syllabus contents and their solutions have been discussed. Now it’s your turn to manage your time efficiently and effectively. No matter if you have done nothing yet, still you have enough time to get the exams ready. Assign task to yourself daily and get it done by the end of the day and try to utilize maximum time of your day. It’s up to you now, what you do with yourself.
It took me hours to write this blog, your feedback in comments will encourage me to write further articles for your assistance.
